LEXITY LAUNCHES NEW GOOGLE SHOPPING APP TO HELP TRANSITION TO GOOGLE’S NEW BIDDING MODEL
Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:14AM First to Automatically Manage Ad Bidding and Catalog Updating
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, August 13, 2012 – Lexity, the developer of the web-based
App platform for ecommerce, today announced the Lexity Google Shopping App
that enables merchants to show “display ads” as part of Google’s search results for
a shopping-related query. The new Lexity Google Shopping App helps merchants
drive traffic with Google AdWords, and is the first to automatically manage both
the ad bidding and updating of the merchant’s product catalog. Designed for ease
of use, merchants set a monthly budget and then Lexity handles the rest. The
Lexity Google Shopping app is available immediately in the Lexity App Gallery at
lexity.com/apps.
Lexity Google Shopping App makes it easy for small online merchants to leverage
Google AdWords, Google’s new home for bidding on shopping related traffic.
Lexity provides a complete dashboard of clicks, cost, and revenue generated. The
dashboard, combined with the App’s automated bidding and product catalog upload, enables the merchant to choose whether they ever login to their AdWords account,
or instead rely on Lexity to manage their shopping related advertising. Lexity has
been making customers successful with Product Listing Ads, Google Shopping’s
predecessor, since late 2011.
“Lexity’s new shopping app enables SMB merchants to benefit from the shift to the
Google bidding model,” said Amit Kumar, CEO of Lexity. “We’ve already heard from
many of our users how the new Lexity app is helping these merchants generate
more revenue from the bidding model than the previous free model.”
According to Mark Costigliola, managing director of EarthLED, “We've used Lexity
for two years to manage pay-per-click advertising, and have been running Lexity
Google Shopping ads for six months as part of that program. At about 230 percent,
our return on investment is through the roof. I’m a big fan of this new Google
Shopping App and know that other ecommerce merchants would benefit from it like
we do.”
Lexity is the only company focused on the SMB market that has both SEM (search
engine marketing) and comparison-shopping feeds experience, a key differentiator,
as Google’s new program is a blend of the two disciplines. In addition to managing
bidding, Lexity Google Shopping handles the updating of the merchant’s product
catalog to Google multiple times per day from the merchant’s ecommerce platform.
Google favors merchants who provide fresh and accurate data with higher
quality scores and hence a lower cost per click. Through Lexity’s “smart attribute
normalization”, the merchant benefits from Lexity’s expertise in managing and
improving this data flow. The product catalog updates are made possible by Lexity’s
extensive network of “connectors” to all of the major ecommerce platforms.
The new Lexity app provides a lot of firsts for Google shopping, including being
the only company that manages both the feed management and bid management
for merchants. With Lexity, the entire bidding process is now automated enabling
Lexity to do the bidding on behalf of the customers anytime of the day or night.
Lexity is also the only company that offers completely automated synchronization
with major ecommerce platforms and integration with over 20 other platforms.
Merchants must act by August 15 to gain $100 off the first month of Google
Shopping advertising plus a 10% discount on all Google Shopping advertising
through the end of the year. Lexity waives its fee for the first month of using the
Lexity Google Shopping App and thereafter charges 15% of what is paid to Google.
