Work Hard Play Hard

Bert Toledo, Office Mom here. One of my first tasks, when joining the team back in February of this year, was to find Vurve a new home. From our nest egg in Sunnyvale at Plug and Play Tech Center, working elbow to elbow in a small section of office space, having to share the cafeteria with 300 other startups, and waiting in line to use the shared table-tennis table, we have since grown and moved to a much larger space that is 10x the size and is an ongoing work in progress to making it our own.

We currently reside in beautiful downtown Mountain View, on the top floor, in office space that has enough room to do cartwheels, play Xbox 360 with Kinect video games in a room that we call ‘The Fish Tank’, three separate conference rooms, three restrooms (one of which includes a shower), endless snacks galore, a Nespresso machine, and where lunch is delivered daily, though occasionally we will enjoy an outing at one of the many fine restaurants on Castro Street.

To top it off we even have our very own table-tennis table to enjoy some very intense matches against tough competition after lunch. Rumor even has it that a champion table-tennis gold medalist has competed at our facility, and is still undefeated.

We regularly eat as a team and take that time to socialize, share laughs, group discussions, and definitely get our fair share of really awful puns courtesy of our CEO/Founder Amit Kumar.

Aside from our core team, this summer we were cast an amazing team of interns and had the opportunity to experience a young group of extremely talented and genuine individuals, a force to be reckoned with.

We have had quite a few adventures, so far, this year. From a night out of team bowling, a small stroll on a sunny day to the nearby gelato place, catching a new release during matinee hours, or grabbing a cup of Joe next door, to our most recent fun outing where our team enjoyed surprisingly fabulous weather while kayaking past AT&T Ballpark through McCovey Cove, under the Bay Bridge, past the insanely huge bow and arrow on the Embarcadero, up to the Ferry Building, and around the Bay in San Francisco.

Overall, though time is flying by as the days of summer approach their end, we have used our time wisely. We know when to buckle down and step it up a notch into what I call ‘Beast Mode’, it is where genius work exemplifies Vurve’s ability to take care of all e-commerce businesses’ hard work and time required to manage advertising online and provide superior service of “Advertising on Autopilot”.

Very nice write up Bert. So proud of you always. <3
I'm a huge fan of beast mode. It actually was originated by Marshawn Lynch.

Don't be silly. Vamsi Chitters invented Beast Mode. :)
