Real-Time Customer Activity on Live View: Now, um, Live!

The waiting, to quote a very wise man, is the hardest part. Every day you stare at Google Analytics and try to make sense of what's going on. You take it on faith that people are coming, people are looking, and (hopefully) people are buying ... but wouldn't it be grand if you could see what people were doing in your store, right now?

With Live View, you'll see who's in your store, where they came from, what they were searching for, and what they're looking at right now. You'll also have an overall view of who's been active in the last hour, and how today's traffic compares to yesterday's. You'll see them moving around inside your store, going from the front door, aisle to aisle, and through the checkout line.

And, best of all, you will have real, actionable time-on-page data.

How it Works

Live View and the Lexity instrumentation are both generated by a very fast server--node.js, talking to Redis on the back end--so you will literally see results on your Live View page within seconds of signing up.

After you instrument your store for Lexity, we'll serve your customers a tiny scrap of JavaScript on every page load. This script pings one of our servers every few seconds, letting us know that your customer is really still there, interacting with your page. When a customer goes to another page on your site, you'll see it happen right there. Because customers have custom-generated avatars, you'll be able to visually track them from page to page, throughout the browsing, thinking, and buying cycle.
